Company activities and impact

The company Bristol Print Collective CIC is a community group of printmakers based in Bristol with an interest in providing opportunities for local printmakers and offer workshops to the public sharing traditional printmaking practice. We set up the company in October 2024 and in the financial year Oct 2024-Nov 2025 the collective’s activities have benefited the community in the following ways: November Print Fair 2024 – 12 Bristol printmakers showcased their work in the pop up fair with over 150 visitors throughout the day. Artists involved commented on the great opportunity to sell their work in a welcoming and inclusive setting alongside celebrated printmakers and emerging artists. February 2025 Print Press and Roll Exhibition - Over 30 artist printmakers were invited to exhibit together for Bristol Print Collective’s first group printmaking exhibition at Centrespace Gallery. The exhibition was a huge success with high visitor numbers and sales for artists, with over £14000 worth of artist prints and cards were sold during the public art exhibition. All artists involved sold something which supported their income and opportunity in their printmaker profession. We welcomed 2400 visitors over two weeks, including visitors from America, Australia, Denmark and across the UK. Curated a programme of talks and workshops during the Print Press and Roll exhibition that celebrated print in different forms and artists shared their practice and ideas to an audience of 60 people. Summer social in July 2025 – brought together 50 visitors ranging from new printmakers to experienced artists to socialise, network, share ideas through informal print activities in a social environment. End of the Road Festival August 2025– four members travelled to End of the Road festival in Dorset to bring a botanical themed workshop to the festival. Over 200 people experienced the joy of printing in the woodland and discovered simple methods on printmaking. Open Studios in October 2025 – Over 300 visitors stepped inside the member’s print studio to learn the process and find out about workshops and events.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s stakeholders are the Bristol Print Collective artist members, visitors to the socials, exhibitions and print fairs. During the exhibition we hosted in February 2025 we asked visitors to complete a comments book which gave us insightful information about the need for more cultural activities celebrating printmaking and Bristol talent. In the printmaking socials we share dialogue with attendees and take notes on what other printmakers are looking for in future opportunities. We have regular Bristol Print Collective member’s meetings to discuss our priorities and our current projects and how we can serve our community in the best format which seems to be more print fairs and collaboration.
