Notes to the Financial Statements

for the Period Ended 31 December 2025

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

Revenue represents the value of goods and services supplied by the company, net of value added tax and trade discounts. Revenue is recognised upon delivery of goods to the clients. Donated goods for sale in the shops and in the recycling, operation are measured at sales prices when sold. Estimating the fair value of donated goods for resale is considered impractical because of the volume of low value items received, the absence of detailed stock control systems in the shops and market factors.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost less depreciation and impairment charges. Depreciation is charged so as to allocate the cost of assets less their residual value over their estimated useful lives, using the straight-line method unless where stated otherwise. Depreciation is provided on the following basis: Long Term Leasehold Property - 15 years Plant & machinery - 15% reducing balance Motor vehicles - 5 years Fixtures & fittings - 8 years

    Other accounting policies

Stocks Stocks and Inventories are stated at the lower of cost and estimated selling price less costs to sell. In respect of work in progress and finished goods, cost includes a relevant proportion of overheads according to the state of completion. Stock consists of donated clothing received across the UK from recycling clothing banks. Which is then processed for resale in the UK and abroad.
