COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

BRIDESTONES REWILDED CIC

Company Number: 15308707 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 December 2025

Company activities and impact

In 2025, Bridestones Rewilded CIC reached a landmark moment with the purchase of Bridestones Moor, allowing practical restoration work to begin and securing the site for community and environmental benefit. The year focused on Building strong foundations for peatland restoration, including baseline water monitoring, ecological surveys, specialist partnerships and volunteer training in sphagnum moss propagation. The project also strengthened community involvement through market stalls, cultural events, arts partnerships, an auction, family activities and a well-attended celebration to thank supporters. Together, these activities increased awareness of rewilding, encouraged local participation and created a strong sense of shared ownership and pride in protecting a valued landscape for future generations.

Consultation with stakeholders

The purchase of Bridestones Moor has created clear and lasting value for stakeholders. For local communities, the project is helping to protect a much-loved landscape while supporting flood resilience, wildfire reduction, biodiversity recovery, skills development and wellbeing through volunteering, learning and cultural activity. For funders, the work demonstrates strong public engagement, practical environment action and credible partnership working with baseline monitoring now in place to evidence future progress and long-term outcomes. Stakeholders have been consulted throughout the year through meetings, various events and our social media channels, and we have always taken note of suggestions made and reacted appropriately.
