CALM AND CONNECT THERAPY CIC

Company Number: 16043326 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 October 2025

Company activities and impact

During the period, the company focused on developing its services and securing funding to support vulnerable groups within the local community. The company was successful in obtaining funding from The National Lottery Community Fund to support refugee families and parents of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across the borough. Many of the families the company works with experience complex challenges, including trauma arising from displacement, language and cultural barriers, and difficulties navigating education and healthcare systems. Some beneficiaries are also affected by No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF). From October 2025, the company will deliver weekly sessions for mothers and children with SEN, including emotional wellbeing support, sensory circuits, mindfulness activities, and practical guidance relating to SEN. The company also plans to deliver mental health and wellbeing workshops for young people. In addition, Calm & Connect Therapy CIC delivers an NHS-funded Womens Health Champion programme, providing menopause awareness, health education, and peer support for adult women within the community. All activities are co-designed with community members and delivered in partnership with local schools, the NHS, charities, refugee organisations, and community centres. These partnerships support the companys aim of building stronger, more inclusive, and connected communities in Lewisham.

Consultation with stakeholders

Calm & Connect Therapy CIC regularly engages with the people and organisations it serves to ensure its activities meet local needs. During the period, consultation took place with parents of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), refugee families, local schools, NHS partners, community organisations, and Women's Health Champions. Feedback was gathered through conversations, informal meetings, community engagement activities, and partnership discussions. This feedback informed the design of the weekly SEN support sessions, wellbeing activities, and mental health workshops, ensuring that services reflect the priorities and experiences of the local community.
