Company activities and impact

In this period More Than Ponies (MTP) shifted from being New Forest-focused programme to a programme rooted in the New Forest, Dorset and surrounding areas. We launched The dAi (digital-Art-index), created by artist Dr Melanie Rose: a place-based research artwork and curatorial project, taking the form of a spreadsheet, which gathers historic paintings held in regional galleries that frame a single place - here the New Forest National Park. The database is hosted on our website. In summer 2025 we collaborated with the Poorhouse Reading Rooms and Bridport Arts Centre on Free Reading, a session with artists Melanie Jackson and Laura Eldret: exploring artists' publications in the archive, time to read, and contributing to a collaborative micro-publication for the exhibition From and To... at Bridport Arts Centre. We also created and published documentation from our conference The Long View on our website. These activities benefited the community by offering free and low-cost opportunities for artists and the public to encounter, make and discuss art rooted in place and landscape.

Consultation with stakeholders

We maintain a network of local and national arts and cultural communities whom we consult when planning future programmes and opportunities. Artists are woven into our programme as collaborators, with consultation and reflection built into our process. Looking ahead, we are exploring relaunching More Than Ponies in 2027 with a permaculture strand, run as a commons, with offers for wider public audiences, and building out our director and governance infrastructure.

Directors' remuneration

All of the director's work carried out as a director in this period was done voluntarily, apart from freelance project work (on The Long View) for which £1,418.80 was paid.

Transfer of assets

No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
