Executive Summary: CIC Activities & Legal Impact During the period, Ekta Sangat Group CIC (“the Company”) actively carried out its core mission to support, educate, and protect the UK Sikh community (sangat) in accordance with the principles of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib (SGGS). The Company’s key activities and community benefits were focused on three main operational areas: Community Advocacy & Rights Protection: The Company provided vital structural, welfare, and legal support to sangat members facing arbitrary restrictions, unfair disciplinary actions, or exclusion from local places of worship, ensuring free access for all Sikhs to carry out their religious duties without discrimination. High Court Intervention & Governance Reform: Responding to severe governance failures within local trust assets, the Company brought a formal Part 20 Claim in the High Court. This legal action sought to enforce financial transparency, recover stolen charity assets (£366,229.00), and hold trustees accountable for breaches of duty and due process. Education, Outreach & Volunteer Infrastructure: The Company organised local member meetings and workshops, and digital outreach campaigns via WhatsApp and social media to address pressing community issues, while providing a necessary framework to encourage selfless volunteer service (sewa).
