  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover comprises the fair value of the consideration received or receivable for the sale of goods and provision of services in the ordinary course of the company’s activities. Turnover is shown net of sales/value added tax, returns, rebates and discounts. Turnover from the rendering of services is recognised by reference to the stage of completion of the contract. The stage of completion of a contract is measured by comparing the costs incurred for work performed to date to the total estimated contract costs. Turnover is only recognised to the extent of recoverable expenses when the outcome of a contract cannot be estimated reliably.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Depreciation is charged so as to write off the cost of assets, other than land and properties under construction over their estimated useful lives, as follows: Office equipment - 25% reducing balance

Company activities and impact

We have continued to deliver our services to the various organisations in the Scottish Borders but at a slightly reduced level from previous years. Funding has continued to be an issue and we have taken steps to reduce our cost base whilst trying not to compromise our service levels.

Consultation with stakeholders

We have ongoing consultation with all of out stakeholders to gather feedback on the important issues affecting everyone. Consultation takes place through our regular business meetings, through one to one support and we respond directly to identified needs.
