The Film Cult CIC continued to establish itself as an essential community asset to the grassroots filmmaking ecosystem through the accounting period of 24/25. The group sustained their flagship “Equipment Share” project while expanding their offering into the screening, distribution, community forming and workshopping spaces through the successful running of a new “Projections” monthly festival. Alongside this the group continued to work on their organising to better involve the community they serve and are a part of. The Film Cult Equipment Share has become a staple in the filmmaking community, offering accessibly priced professional equipment to local indie productions. The project has now supported over 400 local filmmaking groups with the majority stating they wouldn’t have been able to access the equipment without the support of the kit share project. The group raised over £7,000 through crowdfunding to expand the selection of equipment available, developing camera, sound, lighting, costume, as well as safety and accessibility tools. The Film Cult “Projections” festival is a free monthly screening event for locally made films to be watched and optionally discussed in a social and interdisciplinary setting, featuring musicians, poets, experimental, student and other forms of work. We have successfully ran 12 festivals attended by locals.

The Film Cult CIC has continued to put community engagement and collective decision making at the forefront of its activities. Stakeholders include local filmmakers, equipment users, volunteers, event attendees, artists, and members of the wider creative community. The organisation operates through a deliberately horizontal structure designed to be community led and community owned. As a result, stakeholders are not only consulted on the organisation's activities but are directly involved in shaping its priorities, projects and decision making processes. Consultation has taken place through regular discussions at events, volunteer meetings, online community channels, and direct feedback from users. Feedback from stakeholders highlighted demand for a wider range of equipment, more opportunities for networking and collaboration, greater accessibility provisions and increased opportunities for local filmmakers to screen and discuss their work. In response, the organisation expanded the Equipment Share inventory through crowdfunding, invested in accessibility and safety equipment, established the monthly "Projections" festival as a regular exhibition and networking platform, and continued to develop organisational practices that enable greater community participation in governance and project development.
