The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 with respect to accounting records and the preparation of financial statements.
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime and in accordance with the provisions of FRS 102 Section 1A - small entities.
The financial statements have been delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.
The Company has opted not to file the income statement in accordance with provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies' regime.

Mallard Consolidated Limited is a private company limited by shares and incorporated in England and Wales, registration number 08864655. The registered office is Hophouse, Maltings Park, West Bergholt, Colchester, Essex, CO6 3TJ.
2.Accounting policies

Basis of preparation of financial statements
|
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention unless otherwise specified within these accounting policies and in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard 102, the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland and the requirements and the Companies Act 2006'. The disclosure requirements of Section 1A of FRS 102 have been applied other than where additional disclosure is required to show a true and fair view.
The financial statements are presented in Sterling (£) and all values are rounded to the nearest £, except where indicated.

Exemption from preparing consolidated financial statements
|
The Company, and the Group headed by it, qualify as small as set out in section 383 of the Companies Act 2006 and the Company and Group are considered eligible for the exemption to prepare consolidated accounts.
The Directors have considered the Company's position at the time of signing the financial statements.
Based on this, the Directors have concluded that they have a reasonable expectation that the Company (and its subsidiary) will have adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future, being at least twelve months from the date of signing these financial statements, they therefore continue to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing these financial statements.
Investments in subsidiaries are measured at cost less accumulated impairment.

2.Accounting policies (continued)
Short-term debtors are measured at transaction price, less any impairment. Loans receivable are measured initially at fair value, net of transaction costs, and are measured subsequently at amortised cost using the effective interest method, less any impairment.
The Company only enters into basic financial instrument transactions that result in the recognition of financial assets and liabilities like trade and other debtors and creditors, loans from banks and other third parties, loans to related parties and investments in ordinary shares.
Equity dividends are recognised when they become legally payable. Interim equity dividends are recognised when paid. Final equity dividends are recognised when approved by the shareholders at an annual general meeting.

The company owns 100% of the issued share capital of Mallard Leasing Limited, a company incorporated in England and Wales. Mallard Leasing Limited provides finance to individuals and businesses in the form of hire purchase.

There is an unlimited guarantee in place by Mallard Consolidated Limited on behalf of Mallard Leasing Limited to secure the bank borrowings of Mallard Leasing Limited. The outstanding balance in relation to this bank facility at 31 March 2026 was £15,000,000 (2025 - £14,850,000). This guarantee is given via a fixed and floating charge over the assets of both companies.

Related party transactions

The company has taken advantage of the exemption available under FRS102 not to disclose the transactions between wholly owned members of a group.
