Throughout the 2025/2026 financial year, The Motivation Hub CIC has continued to grow, supporting increasing numbers of adults with learning disabilities across the borough of Walsall. Our mission remains to reduce loneliness and social isolation by providing meaningful opportunities that build confidence, encourage lasting friendships and enable individuals to become active and valued members of their local community. This year we have begun delivering a fun, light-hearted and interactive Healthy Eating Show in partnership with Walsall Public Health. This initiative forms part of our pledge to support Walsall’s ambition of becoming a healthier borough by 2040. We visit schools, care homes and community venues, using engaging performances to encourage healthier food choices and promote the importance of a balanced diet. By making learning enjoyable and accessible, we hope to inspire healthier lifestyles whilst supporting improved health outcomes across one of England’s most deprived boroughs. Our purpose-built ‘Home from Home’ independent living unit continues to play an important role in developing everyday living skills. Individuals are supported to prepare healthy meals, learn household tasks, develop budgeting and money management skills and gain the confidence needed to live as independently as possible. During the year we have also worked alongside the NHS, exploring ways to make hospital appointments and healthcare experiences less frightening and more accessible for adults with learning disabilities. We are proud to contribute our experience and knowledge to help improve healthcare access for some of the most vulnerable members of our community. Our programme continues to offer a wide range of meaningful activities including arts and crafts, money skills, healthy cooking, keep-fit sessions, regular access to a local gym and ongoing partnership working with a local allotment, where individuals learn about growing fruit and vegetables, teamwork, healthy lifestyles and environmental responsibility. Community inclusion remains central to everything we do. Throughout the year we have hosted a variety of community events, welcoming local organisations, businesses, professionals and members of the public. Our service users proudly take on the role of hosts, welcoming visitors, serving refreshments and developing valuable communication and social skills whilst building confidence and self-esteem. Everything we do is centred around ensuring adults with learning disabilities lead fulfilled, meaningful and rewarding lives. We continually seek new opportunities that encourage independence, reduce loneliness and social isolation, strengthen community connections and allow every individual to experience opportunities that many may never otherwise have had. SUPPORTING WIDER COMMUNITY BENEFIT The Motivation Hub CIC is committed not only to supporting those who attend our own service but also to strengthening opportunities available across the wider community. During the year, we supported the establishment of another community-based organisation for adults with milder learning disabilities. The organisation aims to help individuals develop the confidence and life skills needed to live more semi-independently, access voluntary work and become active members of their local communities, helping to reduce loneliness and social isolation. Recognising the significant community benefit this organisation will provide, the directors of The Motivation Hub CIC unanimously agreed that the £3,200 previously provided to support its establishment should be written off within The Motivation Hub CIC’s accounts. The directors considered this to be an appropriate community investment, consistent with the company’s community interest objectives, as it supports the development of services that improve the independence, wellbeing and quality of life of adults with learning disabilities within the local community. The directors remain committed to working collaboratively with other organisations wherever possible, recognising that by supporting one another we can collectively create greater opportunities, stronger communities and improved outcomes for vulnerable adults across Walsall. The Motivation Hub CIC remains proud of the positive difference it continues to make and looks forward to building on these achievements during the coming year, ensuring that every individual we support has the opportunity to live a healthier, happier, more independent and meaningful life.
