BillyChip CIC operate a unique street currency for rough sleepers and homeless people. We provide solutions to the many challenges faced by rough sleepers and homeless people in the UK. We have met significant challenges to growth of our high street outlets this year due to the cost of living crisis. As business cost significantly increased for our partners many outlets have closed down or withdrawn from the scheme including Greggs. This has put pressure on our community interest company to remain operational. Due to these significant pressures we have had to diversify from our main business model focussing more on revenue streams from BillyChip Live activities in order to survive. BillyChip Live has achieved great success in promoting our scheme to a younger audience through collaborative music events. This has raised our donation profile helping us to combat the down turn in sales. We have continued our partnerships with other charitable organisations providing long term safe accommodation to support for rough sleepers. We have launched a trial with McDonald restaurants to scope out a more effective redemption model of the scheme and started a partnership with Big Issue where tokens can be used for magazine stock purchases.
High street shoppers purchasing BillyChips from local community-based businesses and national retailers who can provide takeaway food and drink are the companies stake holders. We work closely with our outlets to make sure the offering is suited to our service users as they are often the most vulnerable people in society. Our directors have a clear understanding of the places most frequented by our service users and their complex needs. BillyChip has expanded its work with other charities by providing housing in partnership with Help Bristols Homeless. This also includes relief to those facing poverty in the form of training, accommodation and up-skilling. We have consulted with many local charities, local councils and support services and their agents. The Police have engaged very positively with us and have been instrumental in expanding the scheme to other regional forces highlighting its benefits and positive impact. BillyChip has implemented a trail scheme with three London boroughs this year to study the effectiveness of partnerships providing safe spaces. This has a particular focus on the night time economy and vulnerable women facing rough sleeping.
There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
