The project is unique in the area as we offer many benefits to the local community. We have the foodbank to support people in food poverty, the NotJUST Fill-A -Bag is open to everyone but helps low income families, we offer work experience and volunteering opportunities, we support many other community groups in Telford and throughout Shropshire, by sharing food and we save food from being wasted. It encompasses: Not Just a Food Bank – An independent food bank and food waste project. Our food bank feeds 250 people a week on average. NotJUST Fill-A-Bag – selling discounted food to raise funds for the food bank and humanitarian projects and reducing food waste by saving food from landfill or incineration.
Our stakeholders are: People in food poverty and the general public as they have access to free and low cost food. Food suppliers and local supermarkets as we save their surplus food and short dated food from going to waste and this reducing their food disposal costs. Local community groups that we work with as we share our excess food with them. Regular contact is made with local stakeholders and feedback is appreciated and acted upon for the benefit of the project.
