  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, net of discounts and value added taxes. Turnover includes revenue earned from the rendering of services. Turnover from the rendering of services is recognised by reference to the stage of completion of the contract. The stage of completion of a contract is measured by comparing the costs incurred for work performed to date to the total estimated contract costs.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Tangible fixed assets are measured at cost less accumulative depreciation and any accumulative impairment losses. Depreciation is provided on all tangible fixed assets, other than freehold land, at rates calculated to write off the cost, less estimated residual value, of each asset evenly over its expected useful life of 4 years.

Company activities and impact

For the year ending 31 July 2025, Enriching Lives Pre-School had an average attendance of approximately 14 children during each session. The setting is registered to care for a maximum of 60 children at any one time. Enriching Lives Pre-School is a community-focused early years setting dedicated to providing high-quality childcare and education in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment. We support children’s learning and development through play-based experiences that promote confidence, independence, communication, and school readiness in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Our setting has a positive impact on the local community by offering accessible early education, supporting families, promoting inclusion for children with additional needs, and working closely with parents and other professionals to ensure every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. We are committed to creating a welcoming environment where children feel valued, respected, and inspired to learn.
