| TURNOVER |
| Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, excluding discounts, rebates, value added tax and other sales taxes. |
| STOCKS |
| Stocks are valued at the lower of cost and net realisable value, after making due allowance for obsolete and slow moving items. |
| FOREIGN CURRENCIES |
| Transactions in foreign currency are recorded at the rates of exchange prevailing on the dates of the transactions, using the monthly average rate published by HMRC |
| At each period end foreign currency monetary items are translated into dollars using the closing rate. Non-monetary items measured at historical cost are translated into dollars using the exchange rate at the date of the transaction. |
| Foreign exchange gains and losses resulting from the settlement of transactions and from the translation at period-end exchange rates of monetary assets and liabilities denominated in foreign currencies are recognised in the Income Statement. |
