During the financial year, Africans Unite CIC carried out its core objectives by hosting the Africans Unite Summit. Through this initiative, the company’s activities benefited the community in the following ways: - Promoting African Culture and Achievements: The company showcased African culture, talents, and achievements through cultural performances, dance competitions, and creative talent awards. These activities promoted cultural pride and identity within African and African diaspora communities while fostering public appreciation of African heritage. - Sharing Employment, Business, and Financial Opportunities: The company provided practical support to community members by hosting a Jobs & Careers panel, a financial empowerment presentation on taxes, savings, and investments, and a business panel discussion. These sessions helped individuals and entrepreneurs access career, business, and financial resources, fostering social mobility and long-term economic resilience. Furthermore, free technological resources were distributed to support professional development. - Facilitating Business Networking and Growth: A dedicated business exhibition and networking session connected businesses, entrepreneurs, and community groups, fostering local enterprise development and community engagement.
The company’s stakeholders are African and African diaspora communities in the UK and internationally, including individuals, families, entrepreneurs, local businesses, and community groups of African heritage. The directors consulted with stakeholders during the Africans Unite Summit by actively engaging attendees through interactive sessions, live Q&A panels (covering careers, jobs, and business development), and direct networking opportunities. Feedback and community needs were gathered through audience participation and discussions with local business owners and professionals during the business exhibition. In response to stakeholder feedback and engagement, the company has tailored its support programmes and planned an employability and enterprise support coaching programme to focus more directly on practical career advancement, digital skills access (such as distributing more tools), financial literacy, and fostering ongoing economic collaboration among African heritage entrepreneurs and professionals.
