Principal activities of the company

The Empowering People in Communities (EPIC) Project CIC is a not for profit making organisation the principal act being to provide HAF programme within the West Midlands area. Encouraging a healthy lifestyle for pupils from disadvantaged background to take part in physical and fun activities during school holidays including the provision of a healthy meal.

Company activities and impact

The EPIC project is a not for profit making organisation the principal act being to provide HAF programme within the West Midlands. Encouraging a healthy lifestyle for pupils from a disadvantaged background to take part in physical and fun activities during school holidays including the provision of a healthy meal. During the financial year to 31.12.25 the CIC's activities have benefited the community by providing HAF programmes - 1 week January 25, 1 week Easter 25, 4 weeks summer 25 and 1 week Christmas 25. A Fit Club was also run during the summer for 6 months aimed at encouraging teenagers to make healthy choices with food and helping them to be more active. The aims of the programmes for the children who attended are to: Eat healthily over the school holidays Be active during the school holidays Be safe and not socially isolated Food for the programme was sources locally using local businesses. The programme provide part time temporary employment for several people in the local area supporting our local community

Consultation with stakeholders

The company's stakeholders were the parents/guardians and their children aged between 5 to 16 and eligible for benefit related free school meals in Walsall. All children attending the HAF programme and their parent/guardian were asked to complete a short questionnaire asking their opinion of the service provided and any suggestions for improvement for future programmes. Staff working on the project were also encouraged to provide feedback which will be taken into consideration when planning future programmes.
