COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

JEALOTTS HILL COMMUNITY LANDSHARE CIC

Company Number: 15187261 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 October 2025

Company activities and impact

The Company has provided a safe and secure 6 acre Community Garden for the benefit of the whole community, but in particular those people who experience loneliness and isolation due to physical or mental ill heath, age or family circumstances. We provide part time employment for two people one of whom has a declared disability. During the 2024-2025 year volunteers and visitors have been able to experience the health benefits of involvement in horticulture and spending time outdoors in addition to other more physical activities and crafting. The flowers and vegetables grown onsite have been taken home and enjoyed by our volunteers and shared with visitors at our occasional pop-up shops. This year the fruit crop has been exceptional and this alongside a bumper crop of onions has enabled the creation of highly popular 'homemade' jams and chutneys which were sold to enable the continuing provision of the garden. Brownies, Beavers and Cubs have based their meetings at the site where they have undertaken various craft activities and enjoyed apple picking - a new experience for most of them More than 150 visitors attended each of our themed open days and enjoyed finding out about the traditional Wassail as well as selecting and carving our own grown pumpkins. They also squeezed their own apple juice through a traditional press.

Consultation with stakeholders

During the year we undertook a survey seeking to find out what drew people to the project, what they got out of it and their ideas for the future. The results of this survey have been taken into account into our future planning. Regular 'volunteer' meetings have taken place bi monthly to try to ensure that volunteers are listened to and their concerns and ideas result in action. As a result of this new tools and equipment have been purchased and consideration to given to the development of a more formal 'volunteer induction' process.
