During its first financial year, The Caught In My Eye Project CIC focused on establishing itself as an accessible, community-led organisation that uses film photography to improve wellbeing, build confidence, and strengthen social connections. Throughout the year, we organised regular community photowalks across London, providing welcoming spaces where people of all backgrounds could connect, learn new skills, and explore their local communities through photography. These events encouraged creativity, reduced social isolation, and created opportunities for meaningful conversations between participants who may not otherwise have met. We also delivered introductory film photography workshops, making analogue photography more accessible by reducing financial and knowledge barriers. Participants were able to learn practical photography skills, gain confidence using film cameras, and develop a greater appreciation for creative expression in an inclusive and supportive environment. Alongside our public activities, we invested significant time in building partnerships with local organisations, community groups, and cultural institutions to increase the reach and sustainability of our work. These collaborations have laid the foundations for future programmes that will support young people, underrepresented communities, and individuals who face barriers to accessing the arts. As a newly established Community Interest Company, the year was also dedicated to developing the infrastructure needed to deliver long-term community benefit. This included creating accessible programme models, developing educational resources, strengthening our volunteer network, and establishing affordable products and services that help fund our community activities. The company's activities have benefited the community by creating inclusive opportunities for learning, promoting positive mental wellbeing through creative practice, encouraging social connection, and increasing access to film photography for people who have traditionally been underrepresented or excluded from the medium. These foundations position the organisation to expand its impact in future years while remaining committed to accessibility, affordability, sustainability, and community-led creativity.
