Open Sonix CIC is a Community Interest Company established to improve access to the music industry through music education, artist development and collaborative creative projects. The company supports emerging artists, producers and songwriters, particularly those from underrepresented communities, by providing opportunities to develop skills, build professional networks and create original music. During the financial year 2024–2025, the company's activities benefited the community in the following ways: - organised and delivered four free community music events between November 2024 and January 2025, comprising three Producer Open Mic events and one Cypher, providing accessible performance and networking opportunities for emerging music creators - launched The Cook Up, a collaborative songwriting initiative bringing together 70 emerging artists, producers and engineers in professional recording studios - secured support through Pirate Studios' Studio For All Fund, enabling participants to access professional recording facilities and studio time free of charge - hosted an Open Sonix takeover on Reprezent Radio, giving emerging artists a platform to showcase their music, reach new audiences and gain experience of live radio broadcasting - developed partnerships with studios, community organisations and music industry professionals to improve access to mentoring, networking and career development opportunities - provided an inclusive and welcoming environment where emerging creatives from diverse backgrounds could collaborate, build confidence and progress towards sustainable careers in the music industry.

The company's primary stakeholders are emerging artists, producers, songwriters, audio engineers and other music creators who participate in Open Sonix programmes. We also work closely with community partners, studio providers, educators and music industry professionals who help deliver our activities. Open Sonix consults with participants throughout the year using participant exit forms, informal interviews during and after events, and ongoing conversations with our community and partner organisations. This enables us to better understand the barriers faced by emerging creatives and to ensure our programmes remain relevant, inclusive and responsive to community needs. Feedback from participants consistently highlighted the importance of access to affordable professional studio environments and opportunities to collaborate with new, like-minded creatives. Participants also identified a lack of opportunities for women and underrepresented groups to develop technical skills in music production and audio engineering. In response to this feedback, Open Sonix has continued to develop collaborative programmes such as "The Cook Up", providing free or subsidised access to professional recording studios through support from the Pirate Studios Studio For All Fund. We have also developed initiatives that increase opportunities for female producers and engineers, while continuing to create inclusive spaces where emerging creatives can build networks, develop their skills and gain practical industry experience.

The total amount paid or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £1,574.00. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
