This has been the CIC’s first year of trading. The following activities have been undertaken: - Providing opportunities to play football for young people and women, including organising junior, youth and women’s coaching and football teams. This benefits the community through promoting health, fitness and wellbeing, and building social connections among participants. - Operating a community owned football club; including organising football teams for juniors, youth and women. In addition, community development activities have taken place, with the organising and convening of thematic sub-groups and a social-based community forum. This benefits the community through promoting a democratic community ownership model, providing participants with a stake in a club that will promote active engagement and involvement, as well as a positive shared identity in the CIC’s values of equality, diversity and inclusion.
The CIC’s immediate stakeholders are its membership. These stakeholders have been consulted through: - Thematic sub-groups focusing upon women’s football, junior and youth football, men’s football, finance and governance, media, merchandise and social events. These groups have been convened in-person and on-line and have enable the CIC to begin the process of building a community of volunteers and supporters, promoting active community ownership and informed engagement. - A community forum that is based upon in-person gatherings of members and supporters in a social setting. This format has enabled the development of a statement of shared values and promotion of unity of purpose across all aspects of the CIC.
