The company's activities and impact During the financial year, Govardhan Eco Farm CIC continued to develop an educational and environmental demonstration site focused on sustainable land management, biodiversity, and community wellbeing. The company delivered practical gardening and conservation activities, including the creation and maintenance of no-dig growing areas, habitat improvements, rainwater harvesting infrastructure, composting demonstrations, and woodland management. These activities provided opportunities for volunteers and members of the local community to gain practical skills in sustainable food growing and environmental stewardship. The CIC also continued developing facilities that will support future educational workshops, volunteer programmes, and community engagement. Work undertaken during the year included improvements to site infrastructure, planning and environmental assessments, and preparation for future public educational events. The community benefit created by these activities includes: Increasing public understanding of sustainable gardening and regenerative land management. Improving biodiversity through habitat creation and conservation work. Providing opportunities for volunteering, skills development, and outdoor learning. Demonstrating low-impact environmental solutions such as composting, rainwater harvesting, and ecological land management. Laying the foundations for future educational programmes that will benefit local residents, schools, volunteers, and community groups. Although much of the work during the year focused on establishing the site and its infrastructure, these investments are intended to provide long-term environmental, educational, and community benefits in the years ahead.
The director also provides horticultural and land management services to the CIC through their sole trader business, Lotus Arts Horticulture. Payments made during the year were for contracted services rather than for carrying out the duties of a director.
