Skate For London organised a community Sports Day at Montrose Park to bring together people of all ages through teamwork, physical activity and friendly competition. During the financial year, the event benefited the community in the following ways: * Brought together children, young people, adults and older residents, helping to strengthen relationships across generations. * Encouraged over 100 local participants to take part in free, inclusive sporting activities, promoting healthier and more active lifestyles. * Created opportunities for newly arrived residents and long-term community members to meet, socialise and build lasting connections. * Provided free activities including 100m sprint, relay races, volleyball, rounders, roller skating, double dutch, an art corner and a music jam, ensuring there was something for all ages and abilities. * Enabled local volunteers to gain experience in event management, coaching and community engagement by supporting the delivery of the event. * Celebrated the area’s cultural diversity through team-based activities, encouraging cooperation, inclusion and a strong sense of community pride. * Strengthened Skate For London’s ongoing work to create safe, welcoming spaces where local people can connect, be active and support one another.
