The company has a fixed and floating charge over the the assets and undertakings of the company, held by Barclays Bank Plc, as part of a cross guarantee in relation to borrowings of the group.

During the year, the directors reassessed the recoverability of amounts invoiced to a third party under a Food & Beverage Management Agreement. Following the transition away from the management agreement and subsequent discussions with the third party, it became clear that amounts recharged by the company in respect of 2024 would not be recovered.

As the independent third party is not a related party of the Company, the balances represent ordinary trading receivables for which there is no realistic prospect of recovery. The directors have concluded that sufficient evidence existed prior to the approval of the 2024 financial statements that these amounts were impaired and should have been provided for at that time.

Accordingly, the comparative figures have been restated to recognise a prior period adjustment comprising an impairment of trade receivables of £291,754 together with the associated realised foreign exchange loss of £4,282.

The comparative figures have been restated to reflect the reduction in debtors and reserves of £296,036 at 31 December 2024.

Included within administrative expenses is bad and doubtful debts of £215,950 (2024: £291,754).
