Year Ending: 31 July 2025

Company activities and impact

During the reporting period, we provided peer support, information and iunclusive opportunities for parent carers of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Aiming to reduce isolation, improve wellbeing, strengthen peer networks, and increase access to services and support. We were able to deliver 90 community sessions which included; regular face-to-face peer support sessions incorporating arts and crafts to encourage wellbeing, connection, and shared experiences. Weekly and monthly online support sessions, providing accessible opportunities for families who were unable to attend in person. Online workshops offering practical information, guidance, and education on issues affecting families of children and young people with SEND. As well as, community networking and connecting events, bringing together local organisations and service providers to showcase the support available to parent carers and improve access to local services. Overall we supported 758 individuals, including parent carers, children and young people, and professionals working within the SEND sector. Attendees voiced how significant sessions were in allowing them to see they were not alone in their daily lives and that support is out there when connected to the right service.

Consultation with stakeholders

Within our Facebook Group we often provide polls, challenges or ask for feedback on everything we complete as a CIC. It is important for us to be linked with the parent carers and their families that we support. We offer a monthly ‘Map Our Future’ session where attendees can offer suggestions on improvements or future events. We also reach out to local services to offer ‘Guest Speaker’ appearances so that our families can meet with those they may need support from. We often ask our community ways we can improve and provide opportunities to improve ourselves by listening to those we support.
