3
Accounting policies
The principal accounting policies adopted in the preparation of the financial statements are set out below and have been consistently applied within the same accounts.
Basis of preparation
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard 102 Section 1A. The company is a private company limited by shares, incorporated and domiciled in England and Wales. The financial statements are presented in sterling, which is the company's functional currency, and are rounded to the nearest pound.
Presentation currency
The accounts are presented in £ sterling.
Going concern
The financial statements have been prepared on the going concern basis. At 31 March 2026 the company had net liabilities of £15,308. This position arises principally from amounts owed to the director, who has confirmed that he will not seek repayment of his loan account for a period of at least twelve months from the date of approval of these financial statements. On this basis the directors consider it appropriate to prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis, and the financial statements do not include any adjustments that would result from the going concern basis being inappropriate.
Tangible fixed assets and depreciation
Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost less accumulated depreciation and any accumulated impairment losses. Depreciation is provided so as to write off the cost of each asset less its estimated residual value over its expected useful economic life, as follows: Motor vehicles — 25% per annum, straight line A full year's depreciation is charged in the year of acquisition and no depreciation is charged in the year of disposal. The gain or loss arising on the disposal of an asset is determined as the difference between the disposal proceeds and the carrying amount of the asset, and is recognised in the profit and loss account.
Deferred taxation
Deferred tax arises from timing differences that are differences between taxable profits and total comprehensive income as stated in the financial statements. Deferred tax is recognised on all timing differences at the reporting date, except that deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits. Deferred tax is measured using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference.
Turnover
Turnover represents amounts receivable for the hire of vehicles to drivers, net of any discounts, and is recognised over the period to which the hire relates. Deposits received from drivers are not recognised as turnover and are held as a liability until refunded or applied against amounts due.
