COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

LISTENAPP CIC

Company Number: 13740982 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 30 November 2025

Company activities and impact

During the financial year, ListenApp CIC continued developing and testing ListenApp, a discreet mobile safety app designed to support people experiencing domestic abuse and other forms of harm. The app enables users to activate pre-set safety actions using spoken phrases, including sending alerts to trusted contacts, sharing their location and recording audio, without needing to visibly use or unlock their phone. The company worked with charities, community organisations and professionals supporting victims to discuss the app, test its features and gather feedback on how it could be used safely and effectively. This included engagement in the UK and South Africa with organisations working directly with vulnerable people and survivors of abuse. These activities benefited the community by helping to develop a practical tool for people who may be unable to call for help safely, improving access to discreet support and contributing to earlier intervention and greater personal safety. ListenApp CIC also provided donations and products to charitable partners supporting vulnerable communities, helping those organisations continue their work with people in need.

Consultation with stakeholders

ListenApp CIC’s stakeholders included charities, community organisations, victim-support professionals and organisations working directly with people affected by domestic abuse. Stakeholders were consulted through meetings, discussions and trials of the ListenApp safety app in the UK and South Africa. Feedback was gathered on the app’s usefulness, safety, accessibility and the features needed to support victims effectively. The company used this feedback to inform continued development, including how alerts, location sharing, audio recording, user access and partner delivery should operate.

Directors' remuneration

No remuneration was received

Transfer of assets

During the financial year, ListenApp CIC donated £6,000 to The Mindful Foundation, a registered charity, and purchased products costing £120.90 for donation to a charitable partner. These transfers were made to support organisations working with vulnerable people and further the company’s community-benefit objectives. No transfer was made for private gain.
