The company’s activities are to benefit the community and in particular (without limitation) to raise funds for local charities to enrich, support and empower the lives of local people in our area. We do this by operating an annual event that brings people together to experi-ence and enjoy the fun of a Soap Box Derby. During 2025 we held our annual Richards Castle Soap Box on the last Sunday of June 2025. The funds raised from this event resulted in a £15,400 donation to local charities. Three primary beneficiaries, received £10,000 in total: Orelton Pre-School Ely Memorial Fund We Are Farming Minds In addition, we made smaller donations totalling £5,450 in total to: The Firefighters Charity Girl Guiding Ludlow Brimfield and Little Hereford Sports West Mercia Police Welfare Fund Ludlow Air Cadets Ludlow Swimming Club Richards Castle PCC Richards Castle Village Hall Ludlow Food Bank Leominster Food Bank We maintained a small cash balance to help fund the expenses for next year’s event.
The Directors have appointed a Soap Box Committee formed of local volunteers who collec-tively research and agree the charities we support in each year. A provisional list has been agreed for 2025. Due diligence includes exploring how a charity would use the funds we raise, assessing their need in light of any other funding they receive and confirming their charitable status.
