COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

MARKATE GARDENS C.I.C.

Company Number: 16066929 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 30 November 2025

Company activities and impact

Ran various community events to bring the community together on the land. This was through shared meals and educational workshops. We offered the chance for the community to come regularly to pick their own produce. Many in the community brought children who were able to learn where their food comes from. We supplies various local organisations with locally farmed produced, reducing consumer miles and promoting the idea to support local farmers and food growers.

Consultation with stakeholders

Working directly with a customer who runs a veg box scheme. Before the growing season started we spoke with them to find out the needs of the community, to understand what the community would actually like to buy. Meeting the the needs of the market. Throughout the year we would check in regularly, adjust how we package and supply the produce according to different feedback. This would be weekly face-to-face meetings during the growing season - after the weekly delivery we would check in and ask for feedback regularly.

Directors' remuneration

The directors with significant control within the company invested £3,000 in total at the start of the business. Both directors we reimbursed a portion of what was invested.

Transfer of assets

No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
