COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

FRIENDS OF WHATLEY CIC

Company Number: 16138624 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 December 2025

Company activities and impact

Residents of Whatley and surrounding towns and villages have attended coffee mornings and/or pub nights, bringing a sense of community back to the village, 20 years after we lost our proper pub. The CIC purchased a flatpack Skittle Alley for use on pub nights in the church, bringing people of all ages in - to enjoy the night. Cakes for the coffee mornings are home made by the villagers, and sold at a profit to raise funds for the Church and other community projects, giving the participants a further sense of community. The church itself charges the CIC for the hire of the church, bringing in important income for the upkeep of the Church and its grounds. The CIC manages a ‘community space’ inside the church that can be used for talks, meetings, music, keep fit and many other purposes.
