| Basis of preparing the financial statements |
| The presentation currency of Financial Statements is the pound sterling (£). Monetary amounts are rounded to the nearest £. |
| Going concern |
| The Directors have assessed the company's ability to continue as a going concern. |
| The Directors have assessed the company's ability to continue as a going concern. IDPC has a core funding grant from the Open Society Foundations from April 2025 to March 2028, as well as additional grants from other donors that allow the organisation to continue operating for the foreseeable future. In the coming 12 months, IDPC will continue to work to secure further funding and grant renewals for 2027 and beyond |
| Significant judgements and estimates |
| In the application of the company's accounting policies, the Directors are required to make judgements, estimates and assumptions about the carrying amount of assets and liabilities that are not readily apparent from other sources. The estimates and associated assumptions are based on historical experience and other factors that are considered to be relevant. Actual results may differ from these estimates. |
| The estimates and underlying assumptions are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Revisions to accounting estimates are recognised in the period in which the estimate is revised where the revision affects only that period, or in the period of the revision and future periods where the revision affects both current and future periods. |
| Income |
| The majority of the company's income is project based and received by way of grants. |
| Grants, including Government grants, are recognised when there is a reasonable certainty that the grants will be received and any conditions that may attach to them can be met. Where there is uncertainty as to whether conditions of grants can be met the monies are recognised as a liability until such time as there is certainty. |
| A grant that does not impose specified future performance-related conditions is recognised as income when the grant is receivable. |
| Where future performance-related conditions exist income is only recognised in the income and expenditure account when the performance-related conditions are satisfied. Income receivable before the performance-related conditions are satisfied are deferred and recognised as a liability. |

| Taxation |
| Taxation for the year comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognised in the Income Statement, except to the extent that it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity. |

| Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date. |
| Deferred tax |
| Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date. |
| Timing differences arise from the inclusion of income and expenses in tax assessments in periods different from those in which they are recognised in financial statements. Deferred tax is measured using tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the year end and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference. |

| Pension costs and other post-retirement benefits |
| The company makes payments to defined contribution benefits pension schemes. Contributions are charged to the income and expenditure account as they become payable in accordance with the rules of the schemes. |
