During the financial year, The Wealth Union Group CIC supported young people from underserved communities, particularly those facing low income, unemployment, social isolation, exclusion or exposure to violence. The company delivered community-based activities including football and other physical activities, mentoring, personal development, CV support and employability workshops. These activities provided young people with safe and positive spaces to build confidence, improve communication and teamwork skills, develop healthier routines and receive practical support towards education, training and employment. Regular community sessions helped reduce isolation, encouraged positive peer relationships and provided an alternative to anti-social behaviour and negative influences. Mentoring and employability support helped young people identify their strengths, improve their CVs, prepare for future opportunities and feel more confident about their next steps. Activities were delivered through accessible community settings and partnerships, including work with local councils, community venues, educational organisations and youth leaders. The company’s community-led approach and use of mentors with lived experience helped it engage young people who may not feel comfortable accessing more formal services.
The Wealth Union Group CIC consulted young people throughout the year through informal group discussions, one-to-one conversations, feedback during sessions and ongoing communication with participants. Young people said they wanted accessible sports activities alongside more support with employment, CV writing, confidence and progression after leaving education. Their feedback influenced the combination of sport, mentoring and employability activities offered by the company. Participants also expressed a preference for activities delivered during evenings and weekends and in familiar, informal community spaces. Young people highlighted the importance of receiving support from relatable mentors who understand their backgrounds and experiences. This feedback helped shape how activities were scheduled, promoted and delivered. The company also engaged with staff, volunteers, community leaders, local organisations and delivery partners to discuss local needs, referrals and improvements to activities. Feedback was reviewed informally by the Directors and used to ensure services remained relevant, inclusive and responsive to the communities supported.
