Radio Islanders has consistently fulfilled its mission of supporting and bringing together the Polish community living in the United Kingdom while promoting Polish culture, language, history, and traditions. As part of our core activities, we produced and broadcast radio programmes, interviews, reports, and current affairs programmes dedicated to the life of the Polish community abroad. We covered events organised by Polish community organisations, schools, cultural institutions, and local groups, helping them reach a wider audience. Over the past year, we placed particular emphasis on promoting the work of Polish community organisations and individuals actively engaged in supporting the Polish diaspora. We conducted numerous interviews with leaders of Polish organisations from the United Kingdom and other European countries, showcasing best practices, inspiring initiatives, and opportunities for cooperation between Polish communities. Radio Islanders also acted as a media partner for cultural, educational, and community events, supporting their promotion and encouraging members of the Polish community to participate actively in local initiatives. Through our broadcasts, we promoted Polish artists, creators, entrepreneurs, as well as social and charitable initiatives. As part of our educational activities, we produced programmes promoting Polish history, culture, literature, and national traditions. We also began developing projects dedicated to Polish legends and cultural heritage, aimed at children, young people, and families. Radio Islanders operated through internet broadcasting, our website, mobile application, and social media platforms, enabling us to reach Polish audiences not only across the United Kingdom but also in other countries. Benefits to the Community The activities of Radio Islanders have strengthened the bonds between Poles living abroad while fostering a stronger sense of community, identity, and belonging. By promoting community events, organisations, and social initiatives, we increased their visibility and helped them reach new audiences, volunteers, and participants. Our interviews with leaders of Polish organisations created opportunities to exchange experiences, share best practices, and inspire others to become actively involved in community life.
