In the financial period ending 30th November 2025 Greener Schools delivered fun, engaging, and interactive environmental assemblies and workshops to primary school children. Through our work at the three schools, our message directly impacted approximately 1,400 children and reached approximately 3,500 people. We held whole school Waste and Recycling assemblies at 3 local primary schools. Our assemblies helped the children to better understand the environmental issues associated with waste and how their everyday choices affect the world around them. They offered the children hope and inspiration that they can make a difference and aimed to deliver messages about behaviour changes that children can adopt both at school, at home and in the com-munities in which they live. Rather than just delivering facts, we actively involve pupils through quizzes, games, challenges, and creative discussion. This builds confidence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills while embedding knowledge in a meaningful and memorable way. At one primary school we followed the assembly with a hands-on workshop for two year 3 classes. The children made and decorated bird feeders from plastic milk bottles. This demonstrated how something new and useful could be made out of waste. Our approach ensures learning is interactive, memorable, and practical, equipping children with skills and knowledge they can share and apply beyond the classroom. Climate Action Plans In addition to carrying out assemblies and workshops, Greener Schools worked with 17 schools within one Multi-Academy Trust to develop individual Climate Action Plans. Implementing a Climate Action Plan helps a school to identify, work towards and achieve sustainability goals. We take the burden off busy staff and ensure the school has a meaningful, deliverable and achievable Climate Action Plan. School Climate Action Plan benefits the community by developing a framework to help schools lower carbon emissions through energy saving initiatives, improve air quality through the reduction of traffic from sustainable travel and no idling campaigns, reduce waste to landfill through appropriate disposal and consideration of material purchase and use. The campaigns, initiatives and communication identified within a Climate Action Plans can actively involve pupils and their families in addressing environmental issues and actioning behaviour change.
Following assemblies and workshops we ask for feedback from teachers and pupils. We also submit impact reports to our sponsors and would act on any feedback received. Developing Climate Action Plans is an iterative process where we work directly with a school’s Head teacher and other key members of staff. The Climate Action Plans are tailored with their input.
As identified in the accounts the two Directors were paid a total of £4,500 each over a 5 month period as a salary for carrying out the work described in Section 1 above.
