Year Ending: 31 July 2026

Company activities and impact

Music at Heart CIC provides Kodaly-inspired early years music education for children aged 0–7 and their families in Leeds. During the year, we expanded our provision, increasing the number of classes available and enabling more children and families to participate. Our sessions support early childhood development through high-quality music-making, while strengthening relationships between children and their parents or carers and creating opportunities for families to connect with one another. Through singing, movement, musical play and shared participation, families are supported to develop confidence, connection and a sense of belonging within their local community. We also expanded our bursary provision during the year, offering free and subsidised places to families who may otherwise have faced barriers to taking part. This has enabled us to increase our reach while continuing to make high-quality early years music accessible to a broad and diverse community. We have begun a 4-7s after school music programme, through which we are also mentoring an Assistant Music Leader, a music student studying at Leeds Conservatoire.
