Future Proof (May 24 – Apr 26): Jigsaw was awarded funding from Awards for All to run a project to support people who are unemployed, with health conditions or disabilities, affected by the cost of living crisis or experiencing social isolation. The participants were offered coaching and workshops to help them build confidence and make stronger connections with their community. Creative Connections (Feb – Sep 25): This project was funded by Comic Relief and helped 18 people facing isolation and unemployment to rebuild their confidence and community connections through 1:1 coaching and creative group workshops. Hidden Talents (Feb – Sep 25): Postcode Neighbourhood Trust awarded Jigsaw funding to tackle inequality by working with people with visual impairment or autism to improve their self-belief and connect to others, through coaching and creative workshops. Future Insights (Jul 25 – Jun 26): Jigsaw received funding from LCVS to work with 12 visually impaired adults (VIs) to gather real-world success stories for a new employment guide for young VIs. This improved the confidence and experience of the adult VIs. Future Horizons (Oct 25 – Oct 26): Jigsaw is working in partnership with Wirral Society for the Blind and Partially Sighted to produce an online employment e-manual for young people with a visual impairment. We are also offering them workshops on creative methods and podcasting to build confidence and experience. The project is funded by PH Holt Foundation Trust. Workshops for 3rd sector organisations: We designed and delivered a stress reduction course for Liverpool Carers Centre in May – July 25. We also delivered a workshop on prioritisation for a group of people working in charities and a workshop on imposter syndrome for women running social enterprises in November 25.
Key stakeholders are: People with a health condition or disability, are unemployed, who want support to overcome barriers to move towards training, volunteering or employment. Organisations who work with unemployed people with a health condition or disability. People whose health is affected by their job or who want to consider a change of career. Third sector organisations who want coaching or workshops to support them in their work. How the stakeholders have been consulted: Jigsaw has continued to develop connections with like-minded organisations who work directly with people as outlined above, and also with more strategic partners. We have consulted with people who have a health condition or disability, to ensure the design of workshops and other support address the specific needs of each group. Coaching participants have been asked for feedback after each session, and the style and pace of questions has been revised to suit needs of individuals. Jigsaw has created volunteering opportunities for people who have been through previous Jigsaw workshop programmes. This helps to build their confidence and gives them useful work experience for their CV. It also ensures that the programmes that Jigsaw develops are designed with the input of people with lived experience. External evaluations have been commissioned for ongoing projects, which will give useful feedback from participants and also measure the social value created.
