COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

LIFESTYLE STRIDES CIC

Company Number: 14583135 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 January 2026

Company activities and impact

Lifestyle Strides CIC is a community-focused organisation promoting preventative health and wellbeing through accessible physical activity, healthy lifestyle support, mental wellbeing and social connection. During the year we delivered Lifestyle Run Movement / Gentle Shift, our Sport England-supported programme combining online and community-based walking, gentle movement, strength activity, yoga, breathing and accessible exercise; Lifestyle Leap 2.0, combining movement, nutrition, mental wellbeing and sustainable healthy habits; funded mental wellbeing activity including work supported by Gaddum; community walking and wellbeing activity in Sale West and Trafford; and continued development and testing of digital mindfulness and wellbeing resources. These activities particularly supported adults who were inactive or new to exercise, people aged 50+, culturally diverse communities, people managing health conditions, and those experiencing low confidence or social isolation. Activities were adapted to different confidence and ability levels and provided practical routes into regular movement, improved wellbeing and stronger social connection. Our approach increasingly combined movement, nutrition, mental wellbeing, community connection and belonging so participants could build healthier habits that extended beyond individual sessions.

Consultation with stakeholders

Our stakeholders include programme participants, community residents, volunteers, coaches and facilitators, community organisations, health and wellbeing partners and funders. We consulted through surveys and feedback forms, informal conversations during and after sessions, group discussions, online engagement and discussions with partners and delivery staff. Feedback emphasised gentle and accessible activity, beginner-friendly options, flexibility, social connection and support for overall wellbeing. In response, we adapted activities to different abilities and confidence levels, combined physical activity with mental wellbeing and healthy lifestyle support, increased opportunities for peer connection, and used digital resources to provide support between face-to-face sessions
