We continued to run low cost weekend residential trips and increase the number of weekend and evening hikes for the LGBTQ+ community in Bristol. We recruited more volunteer leaders so we can now offer a wider variety of walks, including wheelchair accessible events, quiet walks for neurodivergent people and collaborations with facilitators. The community has benefitted from wider access to give more people the opportunity to increase wellbeing by getting into nature, exercising and forming important community connections to reduce social isolation. We have run more ‘welcome walks’ to invite people in, and heavily subsidised weekend trips to allow low income members the opportunity to form bonds on these trips that they would otherwise not be able to. We continue to promote a connection to nature and each other, and have had hundreds of new people join us in the last financial year.
Our stakeholders are members of the LGBTQ+ community in and around Bristol. We frequently ask for feedback, sending feedback forms for our weekend trips to consult on what we might improve. In January we ran a survey with 60+ respondents to tell us what the community would like more or less of and ways we could improve. We used this information to change how we book people onto weekend trips (now running a lottery system, prioritising people who have not been before), and to run shorter, more accessible city walks, and more walks accessible by public transport.
The Project Management costs are to Hannah Atkinson, director, who does project management of all events on a freelance basis from grant funding for this purpose. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
