NOTES TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
FOR THE PERIOD 31ST JANUARY 2024 TO 29TH JANUARY 2025

1. STATUTORY INFORMATION

Graeme Hunt Limited is a private company, limited by shares, registered in England and Wales. The
company's registered number and registered office address can be found on the Company Information page.

The financial statements are presented in pound sterling, which is the functional currency of the company and rounded to the nearest pound.

2. ACCOUNTING POLICIES

Basis of preparing the financial statements
These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" including the provisions of Section 1A "Small Entities" and the Companies Act 2006. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.

These financial statements have been prepared on the going concern basis. The company is reliant upon the continuing support of its creditors. If those supports were to be withdrawn the company would be unable to continue in operational existence. Adjustments would have to be made to reduce the balance sheet values of assets to their recoverable amounts and to provide for further liabilities which may arise. The company is unable to quantify the effects of such adjustments on the financial statements. The directors believe that it is appropriate for the financial statements to be prepared on the going concern basis.

The significant accounting policies applied in the preparation of the financial statements are set out below and have been consistently applied to all years presented unless otherwise stated.

Turnover
Turnover represents net proceeds from the sale and repairs and servicing of second hand cars.

Income from sales of second hand cars is recognised when (a) the significant risk and rewards of ownership have been transferred to the buyer; (b) the company retains no continuing involvement or control over the cars and (c) the amount of revenue can be measured reliably.

Revenue from repairs and servicing of second hand cars is recognised when the value of the work done in the year can be measured reliably. Revenue in respect of on-going work is recognised by reference to the stage of completion.

Tangible fixed assets
Depreciation is provided at the following annual rates in order to write off each asset over its estimated useful life.
Fixtures and fittings - 25% on reducing balance
Computer equipment - 25% on reducing balance

Tangible fixed assets are initially recorded at cost. Depreciation and impairment are provided on this assets when deemed necessary.

Depreciation is calculated by taking the difference between the purchase price and the estimated residual value and then splitting this amount over the estimated useful economic life of the asset.

The depreciation charge is recognised in the profit and loss account.

Stocks
Stocks and work in progress are valued at the lower of cost and net realisable value, after making due allowance for obsolete and slow moving items.

Cost is calculated using the first-in, first-out method and includes all purchase, transport, and handling costs in bringing stocks to their present location and condition.

FOR THE PERIOD 31ST JANUARY 2024 TO 29TH JANUARY 2025

2. ACCOUNTING POLICIES - continued
Taxation
Taxation for the period comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognised in the Statement of Income and Retained Earnings, except to the extent that it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity.

Current or deferred taxation assets and liabilities are not discounted.

Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the statement of financial position date.

Deferred tax
Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the statement of financial position date.

Timing differences arise from the inclusion of income and expenses in tax assessments in periods different from those in which they are recognised in financial statements. Deferred tax is measured using tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the period end and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference.

Unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits.

Hire purchase and leasing commitments
Rentals paid under operating leases are charged to profit or loss on a straight line basis over the period of the lease.

Revenue recognition
Revenue is recognised in the accounts once the transfer of risks and rewards have been passed onto the customer. Revenue is shown net of value added tax and trade discounts.

Basic financial instruments
Trade and other debtors/creditors
Trade and other debtors are recognised initially at transaction price less attributable transaction costs.
