During 2025, newCELF developed and delivered *Telyn Cymraeg newydd*, a commissioning project supported by Ty Cerdd. The project created new opportunities for composers and performers to develop their practice and contributed to the development and presentation of new contemporary music in Wales. As part of the project, newCELF commissioned six composers to create new works for solo harp and electronics. This provided composers with the opportunity to develop new approaches to combining acoustic instruments with electronic technology, while contributing new repertoire to the contemporary harp repertoire. The project also provided mentoring from harpist and composer Rhodri Davies, supporting the composers and performers throughout the development of the new works. In addition, newCELF created opportunities for early-career harpists to work directly with early-career composers, giving participants experience of collaboration, commissioning, rehearsal and performance within a professional contemporary music context. The completed works were presented to the public in a concert at St John's Church, Cardiff. This provided an opportunity for audiences to experience newly commissioned contemporary music and for the participating composers and performers to present the outcomes of their creative work in a live setting. Through the project, newCELF supported the development of emerging creative practitioners, encouraged collaboration between composers and performers, expanded opportunities for new music to be created and performed in Wales, and increased public access to contemporary music.
