The Company has organized the following events: 1. Market events in Birmingham, Shropshire, and Nottingham. 2. Training courses for stallholders and people interested in running a small business or market stall. 3. Workshops and activities to support the integration of newcomers from Hong Kong into the UK community. 4. Family-friendly arts, sports and cultural performances and classes. These events have benefited the community in the following ways: 1. Providing business opportunities for food stalls and shops selling Hong Kong specialty foods and handicrafts. 2. Offering low-cost entry opportunities for start-up businesses to explore the market, gather feedback, and earn a living. 3. Promoting Hong Kong’s market culture by showcasing specialty foods and handicrafts created by Hongkongers to the local community. 4. Fostering connection, bonding, and integration between newcomers from Hong Kong and the local community, encouraging cultural exchange and mutual understanding. 5. Promoting family togetherness, fostering a culture of arts and sports learning, and preserving cultural traditions and values. 6. Creating a platform for Hongkongers to share their experiences and challenges related to living and working in the UK.
The company's stakeholders include the residents and visitors of the West Midlands. The directors have lived in Birmingham for several years and have drawn on their experience of organising cultural events, food and handicraft markets in Hong Kong to introduce and promote Hong Kong culture within the local community. To ensure our activities meet the needs of the communities we serve, we regularly conduct surveys and collect participant feedback to better understand their interests, expectations and experiences of our community and market events. The findings inform the planning and development of future activities, helping us design programmes that are relevant, inclusive and responsive to community needs. In addition, we undertake research and facilitate focus group discussions to gain a deeper understanding of the needs, aspirations and challenges faced by the Hongkonger community in the West Midlands. These insights enable us to develop activities that are tailored to participants' interests and circumstances while identifying opportunities to build on our strengths and improve our services. We also conduct one-to-one listening sessions with selected beneficiaries, providing them with an opportunity to share their personal experiences and journeys. These conversations generate valuable qualitative evidence of the impact of our work and help us evaluate outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and shape the future development of our programmes.
