The company's activities have focused on supporting the community of female entrepreneurs in the United Kingdom through the activities set out in its community interest statement. Its principal areas of focus have been the development of a grant funding programme providing non-dilutive funding to female-led startups and women-led venture capital fund managers. The company has undertaken significant preparatory work directed at placing it in a position to deliver those programmes, including the design of the assessment methodology by which grant applications will be evaluated and the framework for providing feedback to applicants; the design of the governance arrangements under which grants will be awarded; research into the funding gap faced by female founders in the United Kingdom; and engagement with prospective donors, prospective delivery partners and sector initiatives concerned with women's access to venture funding. The company's initiatives have yielded more than 250 hours of professional engagement, delivered without charge, including direct access to legal, financial and operational expertise.
The company's stakeholders are the female entrepreneurs in the United Kingdom whom it was formed to benefit; the donors whose philanthropic capital will fund its programmes; the organisations expected to support delivery of its activities, including providers of professional services, and the wider venture capital ecosystem within which its intended beneficiaries raise funding. The company has engaged and continues to engage with female founders, prospective donors and sector initiatives concerned with women's access to venture funding, and that engagement continues to inform the design of the company’s activities, including its grant funding programme.
