The company grows, forages and processes herbs, mostly at Northdown Orchard farm (NDO), to make herbal medicine. This forms the majority of our educational work and is led by Louise Wall, a qualified medical herbalist. These products are then supplied to small teams of clinicians, who use them to support refugees. Volunteer weekends are held at NDO twice a month. The work varies according to the season and stock levels of finished products. In this report year approximately 30 people have volunteered at the farm. In addition to learning plant recognition, the medicinal properties and processing techniques, they gain experience in horticulture Our clinical team consists of 3 to 4 volunteers who provide medical care for refugees for 4 or 5 days most months. The team is led by an experienced medical herbalist and provides an opportunity for medical herbalist students to gain clinical experience for their course.
