Directors' report period ended 30 November 2025

The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 30 November 2025

Principal activities of the company

Strideout Runners C.I.C runs volunteer-led running sessions for women across six locations in Sheffield and the surrounding area. Women pay £1 per session to run with a group that is led by an England Athletics trained volunteer. Groups offered run at different paces to enable inclusivity, especially focusing on getting women into running (e.g. couch to 5km). The C.I.C regularly works with local small businesses, such as pubs, cafes and sports centres/gyms, providing social opportunities and differing physical activity, to develop a broader offer to women within Sheffield. Usual outgoing for the C.I.C include paying for club running vests (paid for by the club for run leaders, and a small cost to the runners), renewing or new training for run leaders to maintain our insurance under England Athletics, and advertising such as flyers and pop-up banners to create visibility of the club in the city.

Company activities and impact

Strideout Runners is a women’s run club in Sheffield. Strideout became a C.I.C in 2025 but has been running since 2011. It benefits women who run or want to start running in Sheffield. We do this through organised runs across different locations in Sheffield, all led by qualified England Athletics Run Leaders and Coaches (DBS checks are part of these qualifications). The CIC is inclusive of all ages beyond 14years (whereby we are insured) and skill levels, with the proposal that runners turn up and pay a small amount for each session, offering financially accessible sport opportunities to those on low incomes or those who are retired. In this filing year, C.I.C, Strideout has: Led a minimum of three of Couch to 5km programmes, bringing new female runners into the sport and creating communities within these locations Introduced a new location (Lodge Moor) with insured and trained run leader in place Paid for and introduced new run leaders at our Crookes location to provide a more improved offer to runners Worked with local businesses to offer gym sessions, pelvic floor workshops and talks for female runners, creating connections within the city for Strideout and promoting small businesses

Consultation with stakeholders

The C.I.C’s stakeholders are female runners in Sheffield, specifically those are currently engaged in running with Strideout. These runners are based in Sheffield and currently vary from age 14 years to 74 years (although open to those who are older). Estimated number of runners who have run with Strideout within a three month slice of the filing year is around 250. A survey was run in 2025 to ask Strideout’s runners what Strideout was doing well and what could be better. This research has enabled me to identify a lack of run leaders in some locations which has now been rectified, interest in runs from different locations during the summer holidays (which took place), and appetite for weekend runs (still to be actioned).
