Citywide Equity Forum (CWEF) CIC is set up to support communities to tackle inequalities. It was set up on 27th January 2025. During the financial year 2025-2026, CWEF’s activities have benefited the community in the following ways: Created and launched CWEF Website to ensure that residents from all diverse communities have the opportunity to articulate their views about the effectiveness of services by providing safe spaces, advocacy information and support Wolverhampton Family Hubs Digital Project – CWEF CIC joined a 6-month DfE pilot to road test a new way to make it easier for families and the professionals who work with them to connect to, and access vital services and support in the city (and became a Digital Pilot Organisation). UK Parliament Outreach Session 21st January 2026 - Residents of Wolverhampton were invited to ‘Get your voice heard’ at this event to learn how to take action and influence decisions made in the UK Parliament CWEF CIC took forward the following Community issues as casework: Case 01/25/01-CWC/GB Details of Community Issue: Elected City of Wolverhampton Council (CWC) Councillor Greg Brackenridge falsely claimed to have served as a Royal Marine – breach of Councillor Code of Conduct. Case 01/25/02-CWC/TJSSDP Details of Community Issue: CWC not adhering to CWC Corporate Complaints Policy. Case Ref 08/25/03-EMC Details of Community Issue: CWEF were approached to request a copy of EMC's complaint’s policy and procedure as it had not been made available. Case Ref 11/25/04-CWC Details of Community Issue: Criteria and process for becoming an elected councillor - rules around family member applications/appointments and safeguards around Council decision making committees/Full Council
CWEF CIC conducted in person and electronic surveys to gather authentic and meaningful feedback from communities whose voices are often underrepresented in policy discussions. The consultation process engaged a broad spectrum of the local population, particularly those affected by systemic inequalities such as poverty, unemployment, economic inactivity and social exclusion. Working collaboratively with University of Wolverhampton, Bilston Resident’s Forum- CWEF CIC Report was launched at a community meeting held on 26th November 2025 where further community consultation took place.
