Basis of preparation of financial statements
|
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention unless otherwise specified within these accounting policies and in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard 102, the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland and the Companies Act 2006. The disclosure requirements of Section 1A of FRS 102 have been applied other than where additional disclosure is required to show a true and fair view.
The preparation of financial statements in compliance with FRS 102 requires the use of certain critical accounting estimates. It also requires management to exercise judgment in applying the Company's accounting policies.
The following principal accounting policies have been applied:
The financial statements are prepared on a going concern basis and there are no material uncertainies that cast significant doubt on the company's ability to continue as a going concern.
The company has been in a net liability position since trading began, this is due to land and buildings that are being developed for rental incurring costs and creating losses. In the year ending 30 November 2024, rental income started to be received. The net liability position should improve from the year ending 30 November 2025 onwards which it has.
Included within other creditors is £1,724,200 owed to investors. Although this is classified as due within one year, this will not be repayable to the investors until there are sufficient funds available.
Interest income is recognised in profit or loss using the effective interest method.
Rental income represents amounts receivable for the letting of the company's investment properties. Rental income is recognised in the profit and loss account on an accruals basis over the period to which it relates.
Finance costs are charged to profit or loss over the term of the debt using the effective interest method so that the amount charged is at a constant rate on the carrying amount. Issue costs are initially recognised as a reduction in the proceeds of the associated capital instrument.
