Principal activities of the company

The Highrise Project is a community interest company created to work with marginalised communities through the arts. These include residents of social housing, migrant communities, unemployed people, and those with mental and physical health issues. These activities will support individuals to develop new and existing skills and to give people a voice to affect change in their local area. Creative Community Art space – developing and creating spaces to bring people together from diverse backgrounds, including residents of social housing, artists and creative practioners who have experience of or are living in social housing, mental and physical health difficultuies, from migrant communities, unemployed people,Including hosting Edeks Doodle chat, digital arts skills workshops and community exhibitions. Digital Inclusion and Digital art skills development - running 1:1 and group sessions for basic digital skills supported by Good Things Foundation, and providing access to digital data through the data bank. Providing 1:1 digital arts skills support. Providing access. Including contributing to reports about digital inclusion in older people. Organisations worked with, New Wortley Community Centre, Armley Hub and libraries, jobshop, New Wortley Community Centre, Good Things Foundation, Leeds Care Partnerships, People for places, Meeting Point, Leeds Industrial Museum, LS14 Trust. St Bartholomews Church. Leeds City Council, Fujitsu, 100% Digital, Sheffied University

For the year ending 31 December 2025 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, excluding discounts, rebates, value added tax and other sales taxes.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Depreciation is provided at the following annual rates in order to write of each asset over its estimated useful life. Computer equipment - 25% on cost

    Other accounting policies

    Taxation - taxation for the year comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognised in the income statement, except to the extent that it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity. Current or deferred taxation assets and liabilities are not discounted. Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date. Deferred tax - deferred tax is recognised in respect to all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date. Timing differences arise from the inclusion of income and expenses in tax assessments in periods different from those in which they are recognised in financial statements. Deferred tax is measured using tac rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the year end and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference. unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits.

Consultation with stakeholders

We hold regular consultations with our stakeholders throughout the year through feedback forms and focus groups Our stakeholders are the community we work with, our directors and the organisations we suport We have held quarterly directors' meetings in 2025 Actions include - offering a range of workshops and community art spaces to support our community - offering support with digital inclusion
