COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

EMPOWERU TODAY CIC

Company Number: 16054430 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 30 November 2025

Company activities and impact

During the financial year, Empower U Today CIC developed and delivered community-based activities supporting people affected by chronic illness, disability, caring responsibilities, isolation and reduced wellbeing. The company’s work focused on creating accessible, welcoming spaces where people could connect with others, improve confidence, take part in gentle wellbeing activities and access practical support. Activities included wellbeing workshops, self-care sessions, creative activities, gentle movement, peer support and community engagement sessions. The company’s activities benefited the community by reducing isolation, improving emotional wellbeing, increasing confidence and helping participants feel more connected and supported. Many beneficiaries experience barriers to mainstream provision due to fluctuating health, disability, caring responsibilities, low confidence or financial pressures. Empower U Today CIC provided inclusive support that allowed people to participate at their own pace in a non-judgemental environment. The company also supported community connection by bringing people together who share similar experiences and by signposting participants to wider sources of help where appropriate. This included encouraging people to access further wellbeing support, local services and community opportunities. During the year, the company also began building its organisational foundations, developing its programme model, strengthening local relationships and securing grant funding to support future delivery. This has helped Empower U Today CIC establish a stronger base from which to continue benefiting the community in the next financial year.

Consultation with stakeholders

During the financial year, Empower U Today CIC consulted with stakeholders through informal conversations, workshop feedback, community engagement and direct discussions with participants and families. This included people living with chronic illness, disability, caring responsibilities, isolation and reduced wellbeing. Feedback from the community helped shape the company’s activities and future programme planning. Stakeholders told us that they wanted accessible, welcoming support that recognised the impact of long-term health conditions on confidence, wellbeing, finances, family life and participation in the wider community. Participants also highlighted the importance of safe spaces where they could connect with others who understand their experiences without feeling judged or excluded. The company used this feedback to develop inclusive wellbeing activities, gentle movement, self-care sessions, peer support and practical signposting. Consultation also informed the development of the company’s future programme model, including activities focused on movement, self-care, confidence and emotional wellbeing. As the organisation grows, Empower U Today CIC intends to strengthen consultation by collecting more structured feedback, testimonials, case studies and participant data at future sessions.
