During the financial year, Green Light Family Support CIC delivered more than 50 community events, support programmes and educational activities for families, parents and children across Sheffield and surrounding areas. Our activities included playgroups for young children, family support sessions, creative workshops, wellbeing initiatives for women, skills development opportunities, environmental education through the ECO WARRIOR programme, cultural heritage projects, community integration activities and remembrance events. We worked in partnership with more than 20 local organisations and engaged over 50 volunteers to support the delivery of our programmes. The company benefited the community in the following ways: - delivered over 50 community events and activities during the year - supported hundreds of local families through playgroups, workshops and community programmes - helped reduce loneliness and social isolation by creating regular opportunities for parents and families to connect, build friendships and develop support networks - provided emotional, practical and peer support to parents, including those experiencing challenges related to migration, parenthood, wellbeing and family life - promoted community integration by bringing together families from different cultural, linguistic and social backgrounds - worked with more than 20 local organisations to increase access to community support, learning opportunities and local services - involved over 50 volunteers in community activities, helping local residents develop skills, confidence and active participation in community life - delivered cultural and educational projects that helped families maintain their cultural heritage while encouraging inclusion and mutual understanding within the wider community - organised Remembrance Day for the Victims of German Nazi Concentration and Extermination Camps, providing educational and remembrance activities that promoted historical awareness, intergenerational learning and community reflection - provided children with opportunities for social, creative and environmental development through playgroups, workshops and the ECO WARRIOR programme The directors believe that these activities have made a positive and lasting contribution to the local community by improving wellbeing, reducing isolation, strengthening social inclusion, encouraging volunteering, supporting family resilience and creating stronger connections between diverse communities across Sheffield.
The company regularly consults with its stakeholders, including parents, families, children, volunteers, community members, partner organisations and local community groups. Consultation takes place through regular conversations during events and activities, feedback from participants, discussions with volunteers, meetings with partner organisations, social media engagement and ongoing communication with beneficiaries of our services. Stakeholders have highlighted the importance of reducing social isolation, providing more opportunities for families to connect, increasing support for parents and children, delivering culturally inclusive activities and creating opportunities for community participation. In response to this feedback, the company expanded its programme of family events, playgroups, workshops and wellbeing activities. We continued to develop partnerships with local organisations, increased opportunities for volunteers to become involved and delivered activities that reflected the needs and interests identified by participants. The company uses stakeholder feedback on an ongoing basis to improve its services, ensure activities remain accessible and inclusive, and maximise community benefit.
