The Home Ed Hut Community Interest Company benefited the community during the financial year by providing home-educated children aged 8–16 with access to inclusive, enriching and engaging educational and social opportunities. Through a range of workshops, classes and activities, the company supported children to explore their interests, develop creativity and practical skills, build confidence and learn alongside other home-educated children. The activities provided an important opportunity for children who are educated at home to regularly interact with their peers, helping them develop communication, teamwork and social skills in a safe and supportive environment. The company also helped families by providing access to varied learning experiences that complemented education taking place at home. By creating a welcoming community hub, the Home Ed Hut brought home-educating families together, encouraged participation and reduced the potential social isolation that some home-educated children may experience. Overall, the company's activities contributed to the educational, social and personal development of local children and strengthened connections between home-educating families within the community.
No consultation with stakeholders
Two of the three directors provide their teaching services to the children of the CIC and received £10,286 combined. No remuneration was received for their role as directors or for managing/running the CIC. The third director does not provide any services, nor receives remuneration.
