Company activities and impact

Shorelark Arts CIC has delivered a diverse range of Creative Workshops and Art for Wellbeing ses-sions across East Lothian, supporting individuals through accessible and inclusive arts engagement. Over the financial year, with funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, Edinburgh University, Inchcape and Corra we provided over 50 free community events, ensuring fair access to creative oppor-tunities for individuals facing social, financial, and cultural barriers. Our sessions foster a supportive, social, and encouraging environment where participants can engage in mindful creativity, benefiting their mental health and overall wellbeing. We provide all materials and light refreshments, removing cost barriers and making participation fully inclusive. Our workshops cater to adults, children, young carers, carers, neurodiverse individuals, and disabled participants, with venues selected to ensure wheelchair accessibility and an inclusive approach for all abilities. A key part of our work has been the continued delivery of intergenerational sessions, allowing families to engage in shared creative experiences, reduce digital distractions, and enhance social connection. We have also expanded delivery of our community sessions for children and young people, including young carers in East Lothian. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with participants highlighting the therapeutic value, sense of belonging, and community resilience-building our services provide. There is strong demand for our workshops to continue, reinforcing our mission to use creativity as a tool for wellbeing, inclusion, and community cohesion.
